The protection of your personal data is a priority for Crédit Européen. As a broker registered with ORIAS, we process financial and personal information and are committed to doing so in strict compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR — EU Regulation 2016/679) and the French Data Protection Act of 6 January 1978, as amended.

Data controller

Crédit Européen, registered with the Saint-Étienne Trade and Companies Register (SIRET 318 314 002 00037), with its registered office at 14 rue des Charmilles, 42400 Saint-Chamond, is responsible for the processing of personal data described in this policy.

Data collected

We collect only the data necessary to carry out our duties. Depending on the steps taken, this may include:

  • Identification data: surname, first name, postal address, email address, telephone number.
  • Financial data: income, expenses, outstanding balances, nature and amount of current loans.
  • Situational data: professional status, family situation, marital regime.
  • Browsing data: IP address, pages visited, visit duration (anonymised or pseudonymised data).

No so-called "sensitive" data within the meaning of Article 9 of the GDPR (ethnic origin, health, beliefs, etc.) is collected, unless expressly justified and after obtaining your explicit consent.

Purposes of processing

Your data is collected for the following purposes:

Processing your financing application

Analysis of your situation, preparation of your file, referral to our banking partners. Legal basis: performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6.1.b GDPR).

Regulatory compliance

Identity verification, anti-money laundering obligations (AML/CFT), legal archiving. Legal basis: legal obligation (Art. 6.1.c GDPR).

Improvement of our services

Anonymised analysis of traffic and usage to improve the ergonomics and content of the site. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR).

Commercial communication

Sending information about our services, subject to your prior and express consent. You may unsubscribe at any time. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR).

Recipients of your data

Your data is transmitted to our banking partners and credit institutions solely for the purposes of processing your file, and only with your explicit agreement.

We do not sell or rent your data to third parties. No transfer of data to a country outside the European Economic Area (EEA) is made without appropriate safeguards within the meaning of Chapter V of the GDPR.

Retention period

Your data is retained for the following periods:

  • Financing file: 5 years from the end of the contractual relationship (legal obligation).
  • Prospect data (incomplete request): 3 years from the last contact.
  • Browsing data: 13 months maximum (CNIL recommendation).

Your rights

In accordance with the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you have the following rights:

Right of access

You may obtain confirmation that your data is being processed and receive a copy of it.

Right to rectification

You may request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.

Right to erasure

You may request the deletion of your data, within the limits of our legal retention obligations.

Right to data portability

You may receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

Right to object

You may object to the processing of your data for commercial prospecting purposes, at any time.

Right to restriction

You may request the temporary suspension of the processing of your data in certain cases provided for by the GDPR.

We undertake to respond to your request within one month (a period that may be extended by two months in the case of complex or numerous requests).

If you consider that your rights are not being respected, you may lodge a complaint with the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL):

Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. All exchanges on this site are encrypted via the TLS protocol (HTTPS).
